Singapore
Times visited: December 2018 and December 2019 for 3 days.
General tips:
(1) The hotels and AirBnBs are very expensive.
(2) Singapore is very clean - easily, the cleanest tropical city I've visited.
(3) Finding Singaporean food is tough for vegetarians. You'll find plenty of Indian vegetarian food.
We stayed in a AirBnb, paid a good price for it, yet found it to be somewhat dated. If you visit Singapore, I hhighly recommend doing the hop-on hop-off. It stops at all important places. You would otherwise have to take a taxi (recommended if traveling with kids/older adults) or public transportation. The app Grab is a must-have. Taxi's usually show up within minutes of booking on Grab.
Must-dos in Singapore:
(1) The Buddha tooth relic temple. My favorite site in Singapore.
(2) Don't miss the evening Garden by the Bay light display. It was better than I expected.
(3) Walk in the Merlion park. I found the Merlion to be a lot smaller than what I had pictured in my head.
(4) Night walk in Clarke Quay.
(5) Lots of small Chinese and Hindu temples.
(6) Walk on Orchard Street, if you like window shopping.
(7) When in Singapore, you kinda have to eat Kaya toast.
Avoid going to Mustafa mall. It's a zoo.
